We spent 5 minutes with the amazingly creative photographer Catie Allen. See below for her dreamy pics of Lucette Romy in Bali and get inspired!
1)Where in Indonesia did you go?
Hey there, I was based out of the beautiful town of Canggu. It’s such a wonderful place, full of a beautiful community and happy faces. I traveled to Ubud, Uluwatu, Lombok and up into the mountains. Next time I’d really like to go to Java and visit some long boarding spots there.
2) What was the purpose of your trip?
The purpose of the trip was to CHILL OUT! I don’t remember the last time I had more than a weeks holiday. The first three weeks were blissful. Filled with long days on the beach, sunset surfing and early nights. It was wonderful. I’ve been shooting a lot this last week but it has been nice to have no other agenda but to create.
3)What has been your favourite travel destination so far?
My favourite destination so far has been the untouched beaches on the east cost of Uluwatu. Its filled with white sand, no people and beautiful water! Bliss!
4) How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
Simple, I just love creating. Its all I think about every day all day. I’m constantly looking at nooks and crannies of the environments I’m in and I try to think of how I could capture them. I also look at a lot of art and go to exhibitions. I find this helps a lot, looking at how other people see things and how they create them is forever a source of knowledge and inspiration.
5) Who or what inspires you?
Most things inspire me. At the moment it’s the beautiful and intricate door ways in Indonesia. They are so stunning!
My photography Idols are: Grace Coddington, Byron Spenser, Anna-Lou “Annie” Leibovitz and Helmut Newton.
