Lifelong lovers of travel and colour, Abi and Shirin’s design elements reflect these passions. Neon hilltribe textiles from Thailand collide with 80s geometrics. Beaded embroidery hand-sewn in Jaipur, vintage denim, and removable embellishments meet sporty retro tailoring in a rainbow fusion of East and West.
Abi brings to B∆nshee her degree in fashion design and decade of experience in creative direction at Tree of Life. Between designing the next season and trawling Afghani market stalls for fresh wares, she is also a painter whose artworks are exhibited through 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace.
Shirin grew up building forts from cardboard boxes in the Tree of Life warehouse. After studying oil painting in the Greek islands and Latin at Cambridge, she moved to New York where she covered Fashion Week and documented street style as a photographer for five years.
When this gypsy anthropologist met this downtown paleo-futurist, they unleashed the she-demon B∆NSHEE. Owing much to the countries who provide the inspiration, all profits from the B∆nshee Collection will be donated to helping victims of the Nepal earthquake.
