7 Ways to Style a Shawl

If the cold has finally started settling in where you are then you may have already started wearing your most snuggly shawl or scarf. Lucky us, we've got some dreamy new blanket shawl styles in stock to choose from so we decided to get creative at Tree HQ and try out a few fun ways to wear them, keeping ourselves looking stylish and warm all winter long!

7 Ways to Style a Shawl

1. The Classic

Simply loop the blanket shawl around you neck loosely so that both ends sit on the outside, with the fringing exposed. For a thicker look, keep the shawl nice and wide as you wrap. This look is casual and easy to wear over a tee and jeans!

2. The Handkerchief

We're channeling a little of the old west with this one! To create this look, half your shawl lengthways, then again on the diagonal to create a triangle shape. Place point of the triangle at the front, in the middle of your chest, with tip about belly button height. You can tie or wrap the ends at the back of you neck, tucking in the tails.

3. The Drape

To create this look, make sure your blanket shawl is open nice and wide. Place one end over your shoulder, so that the fringing is behind you and the length of the shawl is in front. Then bring the scarf around to the other shoulder, looping it behind and around your neck and back in front. The end should fall down with fringing in front. This look never fails to look elegant!

4. The Knot

Place the blanket shawl around your neck, keeping one side longer. Loosely knot the shawl on your chest, with the longer side on top. It's simple, it's stylish and looks great with pants.

5. The Belt

Easily the most creative way to wear a blanket shawl! To create this look, open you shawl nice and wide, wrapping it over your both shoulders and letting it fall down your back and arms. Make sure it's even in length at the front with enough to belt in place. Pick a stylish belt to wear with it, looping it behind you and over the front ends of the shawl. Ta da! You're ready to go!

6. The Infinity

This is a little like the Classic (no. 1 on our list) with the shawl looped around you neck, but instead of having the ends out, simply tuck them in underneath so it appears that the shawl is one continuous loop. Not only does this look great but it's also super cozy and warm.

7. The Wrap

A simple look to achieve, keep the shawl nice and wide behind you and tucking it under your arms just above the elbow. Make sure the ends are both even at the front. We love this elegant look over party dresses! It keeps you warm without hiding your awesome outfit.
