Wandering: Heart and Soul of India
We take a walk in the shoes of Billie Edwards – muse, dreamer, and traveller, as she shares the textures, colours and people in her visual diary of India.
I have been exceptionally lucky to work beside a wonderful, creative and hilarious Tree of Life girl gang this year. My luck was heightened even further, when I had the chance to travel with these wonderful women to my favourite land of all the lands – India. The beautiful land of spice and marigolds!
As soon as we stumbled off the long flight and jumped into an old Merc cab, excitement hit. I remembered why I had fallen so in love with the country as we zoomed through the colourful, unpredictable and chaotic streets to our hotel. Colourful, unpredictable and chaotic are a fantastic combination of adjectives (in my opinion) – and can also be used to summarise our time creating the campaign shoots quite well. Jumping into pools full of hundreds of rose petals, being completely covered in golden marigolds and golden jewels, twirling in front of both sunrises and sunsets, draping off very high but beautiful building ledges (despite my fear of heights), making friends with very well dressed camels and dancing next to some hungry monkeys (spoiler alert) – it could not have been a more enjoyable experience. I uncoordinatedly danced, ran, jumped, sweated and laughed much more than one would probably expect.
